Meet the Team
Ruth Riddick
“I believe from experience that addicts know ahead of time that we’re in for an emotional ride if we’re so foolhardy as to get sober. . . We’re going to need all the help we can get!”
Ruth Riddick, CARC, RCP/f, RTR-S, recipient of the 2024 NYS Justice Peer Initiative Impact Award in Training & Development, is an experienced trainer offering custom coaching and communications programs.
With personal insight into long-term addiction recovery, a distinguished training practice of more than 20 years, and specialized credentialing experience and expertise, her priorities are:
- Promoting addiction recovery through developing and delivering high-quality, experiential training programs for professionals which build fluency in communications and an actionable vision of the recovery journey across a lifetime.
- Empowering professionals, enhancing training standards, and envisioning a sustainable life in addiction recovery through original experiential learning programs and expert technical assistance.
In 2004, she expanded her experiential education portfolio by establishing Sobriety Together Training to include a specialization in recovery. A decade later, she added CCAR training programs through its RCP Facilitator designation. More recently, she has been offering Training For Trainers programs, focused on building training businesses and developing best training practices.
Ruth is convenor of the Mid-Atlantic Facilitators Network’s bi-monthly Conversations about Facilitation-in-Training community of practice.
She holds a certificate in experiential sociometrics earned through her psychodrama work with mentor, Tian Dayton. She is a Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CARC), and a professional member of the NYCB Trainer Registry, which she co-founded in 2020.
Ruth serves on the Advisory Board of the International Association of Recovery Coach Professionals (IARCP) and on the Board of the New York Association of Treatment Court Professionals (NYATCP), both commitments dating from 2022. She presents at the annual NYATCP conference among other regular public commitments.
Ruth is a member of NAADAC, the association for addiction professionals.
